Just switched from DirecTV to C Spire with Fire stick, and find it burdensome to have to scroll through all channels to get to previous channel. Numeric keypad remote would be great, but can you at least enable the "back" key (to left of home key) to go to previous channel instead of back to channel guide?

I gave up on cspire TV. So user unfriendly at all levels. I went to FUBO TV. Much better.

This issue is what's stopping me from getting the service. My 82 year old grandfather needs this. It's much easier for him to remember a number (or write it down), then for him to scroll through all the channels. The recently viewed list isn't a valid option for me since I have 8 people in my house (4 kids, wife, grandfather, brother in law and myself), that blows the recently viewed option out the water lol. Having a remote through an app wont work, my grandfather doesnt have, nor does he want a smart phone. It's always an adventure just for him to turn the TV on alone!

Just started your TV service today. Probably not going to keep it due to this issue.
Especially since these notes show two years and nothing has been done. -

If what I am reading here is still the case, it is absolutely unacceptable that this product was released with such a glaring deficiency. I understand C Spire is in the process of forcing everyone to switch to this method. I hope not. There will be lots of unhappy campers. Two friends of mine who have this product don't like it. Prepare to lose lots of business.

This is a great idea - my wife was really hard to convert from xfinity to CSpire streaming (we’re not 100% there yet) - it would be nice to have a numeric keypad rather than having to scroll up and down, trying to stop at the right channel.

Hello- We are currently testing a couple different options that would provide C Spire TV users with a more 'traditional' tv experience including a remote control that has a number pad that would allow for direct channel input (once in the app).
We'll be at CES this year also looking at stand-alone Bluetooth remote controls that could provide number input access on a Amazon Fire TV device, for example.
This is a very high priority here at C Spire.

I don't necessarily mean that a physical remote needs to be used, but it would make sense to me that some type of direct input can be used via a telephone or an onscreen virtual remote keyboard.

Do you mean using a regular remote to directly access CSpire channels instead of having to go through Fire Stick?

Has this gotten anywhere since last discussed in 2017? I am wanting to swap to C Spire TV from my current provider but the lack of direct channel access is the main thing stopping me from doing it. I had this same format of TV format from a competitor a few years back but the lack of the direct access is what made me leave them.

yes - we have looked at adding additional search fields in other areas of the app. The guide being one of them. This is on our radar as a potential future enhancement.
In the meantime, I invite you to try the new Recently Viewed row which is accessible below the main menu. This row keeps tabs of all the recent channels, shows, recordings, movies etc. And allows you to very quickly jump from channel to channel like a 'previous' or 'last' button on steroids.

You are correct. I'm using the Apple TV remote app which results in a full keyboard on iPhone or iPad when in a search field. A "search" field on the guide and/or on the menu bar when watching live TV might trigger this keyboard when entered, allowing direct entry of channel numbers.
